To use PRO-MIX® HP®, open the package, remove some PRO-MIX® product and place into a large tub or container. Lightly break up any clumps so that the PRO-MIX® is light and airy. Most growers prefer to add a small amount of water prior to filling containers. If you add water, add enough so that the PRO-MIX® product is slightly moist to touch. Do not saturate. Fill flats, containers and/or pots, without compacting the PRO-MIX® in the container. Plant your seedlings, young plants, etc., then water in containers.

As soon as plant roots begin to emerge, apply PRO-MIX® CONNECT™ close to the main root system to quickly start the symbiosis and develop the hyphae network. By applying it as a slurry on your rooted cuttings when transplanting, you provide approximately 30,000 viable spores in direct contact with the root system. This method encourages symbiosis to occur quickly to benefit plants.

PRO-MIX® HP® can be used for transplanting seedlings. However, we suggest PRO-MIX® FPX for seed starting and seed germination.

PRO-MIX® HP® is a peat-based growing medium formulated with a high percentage of perlite. PRO-MIX® HP® and all PRO-MIX® growing media products are 'soilless', meaning that they do not contain any mineral soil.

PRO-MIX® HPCC is a peat/chunk coir/perlite-based soilless growing medium. It contains 65-75% Sphagnum peat moss, chunk coir, perlite, limestone, a starter nutrient charge, and a wetting agent.

Mycorrhizae are beneficial associations between a mycorrhizal fungus and roots. The mycorrhizal spores germinate in the soil and produce filaments (called hyphae) which penetrate plant root cells. This association allows the formation of an intra-radical and extra-radical network of filaments that explore the growing medium in the container and give better access to nutrients and water, and transfer these to the plant.

PRO-MIX® HPCC is a High Porosity – Chunk Coir growing medium that contains a base of sphagnum peat moss, chunk coir and perlite. It is ideal for large potted crops (4 inch - 10 cm or larger), hanging baskets and large containers when high water holding capacity is desired without sacrificing high air porosity.

PRO-MIX® CONNECT™ is the mycorrhizal inoculant with the highest concentration of viable spores (6000 viable spores/g). This root enhancer ensures a rapid connection with the roots of your clones and seedlings.

PRO-MIX® HP® contains a base of Sphagnum peat moss and a high percentage of perlite. PRO-MIX® HPCC contains Sphagnum peat moss, chunk coir and a lesser amount of perlite than PRO-MIX® HP®. PRO-MIX® HP® holds less water than HPCC, therefore it will dry out faster.

Using the Saturated Media Extraction test method (SME), PRO-MIX® HP® is formulated in a pH range of 5.2-6.2. Once the product is opened, crops planted and watered, limestone is activated and pH will reach 5.8-6.2 within 7-10 days.
